I have a dream...

A couple of years ago, I got an idea in my head, or as the ABBA song declares, I had a dream (...a song to sing!) I had just experienced watching the movie Mamma Mia! on the big screen for the first time (of many) and was in awe of the Greek Island where the movie was filmed. I did some research, then took a trip to this remote island via google earth to the small island of Skopelos. That's when I decided that I had to figure out a way to spend some time on this island.

Not long after that, my husband (a university professor) confirmed that part of his sabbatical year could be spent in Europe, where he would be collaborating with another professor. That set the plan in motion. As long as we found accommodations that had high speed internet, we could both work. The opportunity to explore Skopelos Island became real. So when it came time to book our flights, I booked us into Paris and had us leaving from Athens, Greece 5 months later. That gave time to make our way, somehow, to Skopelos!

We spent the bulk of our time in Europe living in Southern France, Austria and Italy. But, for the last three weeks of our sabbatical, we figured out a way (searching on-line) to live on beautiful Skopelos Island. It wasn't hard to figure out why this island was chosen as the Greek Island paradise for the movie.
